Today, Kevin and I are excited to try some delectable treats from Back Road Country. We picked up three different varieties: Milk Chocolate Caramel Pecan Turtle, Milk Chocolate Buckeye Bar, and Milk Chocolate Peanut Butter Turtle. Each of these chocolates cost $2.99 at Jungle Jim’s International Market in Ohio. Notably, these sweets are made in Millersburg, Ohio.
Our channel has previously reviewed several Back Road Country products, including sweet potato chips, onion-flavored rings, and various flavored popcorns like Chicago, caramel apple, sweet heat, and caramel puff corn. We found these items at a local store called Richfield Meats, which should definitely consider stocking these chocolates due to their high quality.
Milk Chocolate Caramel Pecan Turtle
This treat consists of two servings, each with 140 calories. The caramel is delightfully stretchy without being too sticky, offering a smooth, creamy texture reminiscent of Caramelo. The combination of milk chocolate, caramel, and pecans is perfect, making it a standout treat.
Milk Chocolate Buckeye Bar
As Ohio is the Buckeye State, we had to try this bar. Unlike traditional round Buckeyes, this is a bar with a unique twist. It contains 170 calories per serving. The peanut butter inside is mixed with powdered sugar, making it less intense than regular peanut butter but still very enjoyable. The slight saltiness adds to its appeal, making it a must-try for Buckeye fans.
Milk Chocolate Peanut Butter Turtle
This chocolate, with 150 calories per serving, combines milk chocolate, peanut butter, and pecans. While the peanut butter flavor is subtle due to the dominant chocolate, the pecans add a delightful roasted taste. The balance of salt and sweetness is excellent, though the chocolate flavor prevails.
Final Thoughts
Among the three, the Milk Chocolate Caramel Pecan Turtle was our favorite, followed by the Milk Chocolate Peanut Butter Turtle and the Milk Chocolate Buckeye Bar. All three products showcase excellent quality chocolate, making them worth the purchase if you come across them. Richfield Meats and other retailers should definitely consider stocking these fantastic chocolates.
