Brownie Points Brownie Bites from Jungle Jim's International Market

Today, Kevin and I are reviewing Brownie Points Brownie Bites, available in five flavors: Birthday Cake Blondie, Salty Caramel Brownie, PB and Caramel Brownie, Raspberry Caramel Brownie, and Minty Cookie Brownie. Priced at $4.99 each, these treats are made in Columbus, Ohio, and we purchased them from Jungle Jim's International Market.

Each bag is 3.5 ounces (98 grams) and contains about three and a half servings, with a serving size of 1 ounce (28 grams) equating to 110 calories. We were curious to see how many pieces fit into a single serving, so we weighed them. Surprisingly, four pieces slightly exceeded the serving size, weighing in at 30 grams.

Birthday Cake Blondie

These bites feature a chewy blondie center, coated in milk chocolate and topped with sweet sprinkles. While the texture is pleasant, combining a soft interior with a crunchy exterior from the sprinkles, the flavor is predominantly vanilla and not particularly bold. Despite being enjoyable, the subtle flavor may leave you wanting more than just four pieces.

Salty Caramel Brownie

This variant boasts Himalayan salt, fudgy brownie, rich chocolate, and gooey caramel. At 120 calories per 28 grams, these bites have a more pronounced flavor profile, particularly due to the salt. However, the caramel flavor is subtle, and the chocolate isn't very strong. The texture includes a chewy caramel layer that adds to the experience, though the chocolate coating is not as luxurious as one might hope.

PB and Caramel Brownie

With gooey caramel, fudgy brownie, rich chocolate, and creamy peanut butter, these bites are higher in calories at 130 per 28 grams. The peanut butter flavor stands out, providing a stronger overall taste compared to the previous flavors. The chocolate here is closer to milk chocolate, enhancing the sweetness.

Raspberry Caramel Brownie

This flavor features a similar structure to the others but with raspberry and dark chocolate. At 120 calories per 28 grams, the dark chocolate is quite bitter, and while I appreciated the raspberry flavor, it might not be to everyone's liking. The thick chocolate coating is enjoyable, but the bitterness can be overpowering.

Minty Cookie Brownie

Combining crushed cookies, dark chocolate, and cool mint, this variant is also 120 calories per 28 grams. The initial taste might be a bit intense, but it settles into a pleasant minty flavor reminiscent of Junior Mints. The texture is less about crunch and more about a softer bite.

Overall Impression

While these brownie bites offer a unique concept, the $5 price tag feels steep given the small quantity in each bag. The flavors are interesting, with the mint and peanut butter being the most satisfying. However, none of the flavors were compelling enough for us to consider purchasing them again.

If you’re intrigued by the novelty, it might be worth trying a bag. But for us, the lack of bold flavors and the high price make it a less appealing option for a regular treat.

Final Thoughts

Our favorites are the Minty Cookie Brownie and the PB and Caramel Brownie. If you’ve tried these brownie bites, let us know your thoughts! We hope you enjoyed the review—thanks for watching!
