How to Pick a Business Mailbox Services & Who I Use (Review of AnytimeMailbox & Northwest)

I'm attorney Elizabeth Potts Weinstein, and I'm here to share insights on the services I use for my businesses. Managing multiple businesses virtually, without a physical location, requires careful selection of various services. One crucial service for any business, including mine, is a reliable mailing address. Here’s a detailed look at how I manage this for my businesses, and how you can choose the right service for yours.

Mailing Address for Different Business Needs

I operate two distinct businesses: an LLC for my YouTube channels and a law firm for my legal practice. Each has different mailing needs, which led me to choose different services accordingly.

For My YouTube Channel Business

My LLC, which manages my YouTube channels, receives almost no physical mail. Therefore, I don't need a service with extensive mail handling features. For this business, I use the same company that formed my LLC and serves as my registered agent: Northwest Registered Agent. They provide an address that I use for official forms, banking, and other administrative purposes. This basic service suffices since I rarely receive mail at this address.

For My Law Firm

In contrast, my law firm requires a more robust mailing solution. Although I receive less mail than before, I still get important documents via USPS, FedEx, and UPS. These include official letters from other attorneys and trademark certificates from the Trademark Office, which need to be forwarded to my clients. For this, I use Anytime Mailbox.

Benefits of Anytime Mailbox

Anytime Mailbox functions similarly to services like Lyft or Uber, providing the platform for various local mail centers. This service allows you to:

  • Scan Mail: You can opt to have the outside of your mail scanned, and then decide whether you want the contents scanned, shredded, recycled, or forwarded to you.
  • Handle Packages: Some locations offer additional services like check depositing, which can be useful depending on your needs.

Choosing the Right Service

When selecting a virtual mailbox service, consider the following:

  1. Volume and Type of Mail: If you receive frequent or large volumes of mail, or need to handle returns, a PO Box or UPS store might be more cost-effective. For minimal mail, a service like Northwest Registered Agent or Anytime Mailbox can be ideal.
  2. Service Features: Assess what each service offers and choose one that matches your needs. For instance, Anytime Mailbox provides an online notary service, simplifying the process of notarizing USPS forms required for virtual mailboxes.
  3. Location and Cost: Virtual mailbox services vary in price and features depending on the location. Compare different options to find the best fit for your budget and needs.

Final Thoughts

Each business has unique requirements for a mailing address. Carefully consider what your business needs before choosing a service. For those interested, I have affiliate links for Anytime Mailbox and Northwest Registered Agent below, which help support my channel.
