Today, Kevin and I are trying kettle-cooked potato chips from Community Snacks. We sampled three flavors: Sweet Maui Onion, Sea Salt & Vinegar, and All Mixed Up. These bags were $4.99 each at HomeGoods, which is a decent price for the 11-ounce size, larger than most chip bags.

Sweet Maui Onion

The Sweet Maui Onion chips have a distinct, sweet onion flavor. The texture is quite hard, similar to Kettle Brand chips, but even crunchier. While we enjoyed the taste, the hardness made them less enjoyable for extended snacking. If you love sweet Maui onion flavor and don't mind hard chips, these are a great choice.

Sea Salt & Vinegar

The Sea Salt & Vinegar chips offer a robust vinegar flavor with the perfect amount of salt. The chips are equally hard as the Sweet Maui Onion ones, which again might be too much for some. The vinegar flavor is strong but not overwhelming, making these a favorite for vinegar chip lovers.

All Mixed Up

All Mixed Up combines barbecue, vinegar, onion, and garlic flavors. These chips also have the same crunchiness. The dominant flavors are barbecue and vinegar, with subtle hints of onion and garlic enhancing the taste. While the mix is interesting, the texture remains a challenge for those who prefer softer chips.

Overall Impression

If you enjoy very crunchy chips, Community Snacks’ offerings might be perfect for you. Each flavor we tried was delicious, though the texture could be a drawback for some. Here’s a quick rating:
- Sweet Maui Onion: 5/5 for flavor, but very hard
- Sea Salt & Vinegar: 5/5 for flavor, but very hard
- All Mixed Up: 4.5/5, an interesting mix but still very hard

We recommend trying these if you find them at HomeGoods or other retailers. Let us know if you have seen these in your area and share your thoughts if you've tried them. For more details, visit CommunitySnacks.com.

Thanks for reading, and enjoy your snacking!
