How to Make Cake Mix Brownies with Betty Crocker Delights Super Moist Cherry Chip Cake Mix

Today, I'm going to show you how to make cake mix brownies using Betty Crocker Delight Super Moist Cherry Chip Cake Mix. We'll also be using the frosting for added flavor. My husband Kevin and I love frosted brownies, so this should be a treat!

Ingredients

  • 1 box of Betty Crocker Delight Super Moist Cherry Chip Cake Mix
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 eggs
  • Frosting (optional)

Instructions

Preparation

  1. Preheat Your Oven: Set your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Prepare the Pan: Take an 8x8-inch or a 9x9-inch pan and lightly spray it with non-stick cooking spray. I prefer using parchment paper for easier cleanup, so I lined a 9x9-inch metal pan with it.

Mixing the Batter

  1. Combine Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the cake mix, 1/3 cup of vegetable oil, and 2 eggs. Mix until well blended. The batter will be thick and sticky.
  2. Transfer to Pan: Spread the batter evenly in the prepared pan. If needed, lightly spray your fingers with cooking spray to prevent sticking.

Baking

  1. Bake: Place the pan in the oven and bake for about 18-20 minutes. I recommend setting your timer for 18 minutes to check for doneness. The brownies are done when a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  2. Cool: Once baked, let the brownies cool in the pan for about 15 minutes.

Frosting (Optional)

  1. Apply Frosting: If you choose to frost the brownies, spread your desired amount of frosting over the cooled brownies. We used leftover frosting from another recipe, which we had allowed to soften at room temperature.

Tips

  • Texture: Using a 9x9-inch pan results in thinner brownies, while an 8x8-inch pan will yield thicker ones.
  • Experiment: You can try different cake mix flavors such as chocolate, lemon, or spice for variety. Adding white chocolate chips or nuts can enhance the flavor and texture.
  • Serving: These brownies can be enjoyed with or without frosting, depending on your preference.

Final Thoughts

Kevin and I found that these brownies have a delightful chewy texture that we prefer over regular cake. The cherry flavor is more pronounced in the brownies compared to cookies made from the same mix. Whether frosted or plain, these brownies are a hit. We hope you enjoy making and eating them as much as we did.
