Today, Kevin and I are reviewing Kellogg's Eggo Grab & Go Liège Style Waffles, available in Vanilla Bean and Chocolate Chip flavors. Priced at $6.29 per box at Kroger, each box contains four individually wrapped waffles. These can be enjoyed in various ways: thawed, toasted, air-fried, microwaved, or baked in a convection oven.
Preparation Options
- Thaw: Unwrap and enjoy after thawing for about an hour.
- Toaster: Set to the lowest setting.
- Air Fryer: Heat at 300°F for 2-3 minutes.
- Microwave: Heat for 20-30 seconds.
- Convection Oven: Bake at 400°F for 2 minutes.
We opted to prepare these in the toaster. Given the cost, each waffle is approximately $1.57, which seems pricey compared to alternatives like donuts.
Nutritional Information:

Upon tasting, the Vanilla Bean and Chocolate Chip waffles appeared identical to their pre-toasted state, with no artificial flavors or colors. However, the texture was noticeably tougher and chewier than previous Eggo waffles we've tried.
The Vanilla Bean waffle had a less sweet flavor compared to the Belgian-style waffles we reviewed earlier, which were softer and more cake-like with a sweeter taste. These Liège waffles include real butter and pearl sugar but lack the fresh taste and texture of the Belgian-style Street waffles, which were packaged in a blue box.
Comparison
- Belgian-style Street Waffles: Softer, sweeter, fresher taste.
- Liège-style Waffles: Tougher texture, less sweet flavor.
Next, we tasted the Chocolate Chip waffle. While it shared the same calorie count and tough texture as the Vanilla Bean, the chocolate flavor in the Street Waffles was superior, fresher, and had a better overall taste.
Though convenient, the Liège-style waffles don’t measure up to the Street Waffles in flavor or texture. If you're considering Eggo waffles, the Belgian-style Street Waffles, especially the ones in the solid color boxes, offer a better experience.
Storage Instructions
- Room Temperature: Up to 15 days.
- Refrigerated: Up to 35 days.
- Frozen: Keep frozen until ready to thaw or heat. Do not refreeze thawed product.
For those seeking a quick snack, these waffles can be kept out like bread. However, considering there are only four waffles per box, consuming them within the recommended time frame should be manageable.
In conclusion, while the convenience is a plus, we recommend opting for the Belgian-style Street Waffles for better taste and texture. Thanks for watching, and we hope you found this review helpful!
