Today, Kevin and I are excited to try the new KIND bars, specifically from the Seeds, Fruits, and Nuts variety. We have two flavors to review: Strawberry Sunflower Seed and Dark Chocolate Raspberry Pumpkin Seed. Each box costs $7.48 at Walmart and contains six bars. At 240 grams per box and 40 grams per bar, these bars are hefty and promising.
Strawberry Sunflower Seed Bar
The first flavor we tried was the Strawberry Sunflower Seed. The bar’s primary ingredient is sunflower seeds, complemented by almonds, peanuts, and a plant-based oat milk drizzle. Each bar boasts 5 grams of protein, 13 grams of fiber, and 13 grams of fat, totaling 190 calories.
First Impressions
The bars are well-packaged, and the oat milk drizzle on top adds an appealing touch. Opening the box from the side was easier due to the tight seal on the top.
The texture is a delightful mix of chewy and crunchy. The sunflower seeds and nuts provide a satisfying crunch, while the dried strawberries and cranberries add a pleasant chewiness. The oat milk drizzle adds a slight sweetness that balances the overall flavor.
The dominant flavors are the dried strawberries and cranberries, which offer a sweet and slightly tart taste. The sunflower seeds also stand out, adding a nutty undertone that complements the fruitiness.
This bar is well-balanced in terms of texture and flavor. The combination of sweet fruit and crunchy seeds makes it a highly satisfying snack. It’s definitely a favorite and one we would buy again.
Dark Chocolate Raspberry Pumpkin Seed Bar
Next, we tried the Dark Chocolate Raspberry Pumpkin Seed bar. This bar features chewy pumpkin and sunflower seeds, tart raspberries, sweet cranberries, and crunchy nuts, all topped with a dark chocolate drizzle. Each bar contains 180 calories.
First Impressions
Like the first bar, the packaging is sturdy and the chocolate drizzle gives it a decadent appearance.
The texture is consistent with the first bar, providing a mix of chewiness from the seeds and fruit and crunchiness from the nuts.
The dark chocolate is the predominant flavor, slightly overpowering the raspberry and cranberry notes. While the chocolate adds a rich, bittersweet taste, it masks some of the fruitiness that we enjoyed in the first bar.
Although the texture is enjoyable, the dark chocolate makes this bar less sweet compared to the Strawberry Sunflower Seed bar. It’s a good option for dark chocolate lovers but not as balanced in flavor as the first bar.
Final Thoughts
Between the two, the Strawberry Sunflower Seed bar is the clear winner. Its balance of sweet and nutty flavors, combined with a satisfying texture, makes it a snack we would consistently choose. The Dark Chocolate Raspberry Pumpkin Seed bar is also good but caters more to those who prefer a stronger dark chocolate flavor.
KIND bars deliver on their promise of using quality nuts and seeds, justifying their price with generous and high-quality ingredients. We hope you enjoyed this review. Be sure to check out the close-up pictures at the end of the video, and thanks for watching!
