Kraft Singles New Flavors - Caramelized Onion, Garlic & Herb, and Jalapeno

Are you ready to try some unique cheese flavors? Today, we're diving into Kraft Singles' new varieties: Caramelized Onion, Garlic & Herb, and Jalapeno. We picked up these 16-slice packs from Jungle Jim's in Cincinnati for $4.79 each. Let's see if they're worth the price.

Caramelized Onion

First up is the Caramelized Onion flavor. Each slice is 50 calories. Typically, we prefer block cheese because it's cheaper and we can slice or shred it ourselves, but these pre-sliced options can be convenient for things like cheeseburgers.

Tasting notes: The onion flavor is subtle but present. However, we think it might get lost in a cheeseburger. Perhaps it would work better in a grilled cheese sandwich, especially if you season the bread well. Overall, it's not bad but not particularly strong.

Garlic & Herb

Next, we tried the Garlic & Herb flavor. This one has visible herbs and a stronger flavor compared to the Caramelized Onion.

Tasting notes: The garlic is prominent, which we appreciated. The herbs, likely basil and possibly thyme, add a nice touch. This would make a great addition to a grilled cheese sandwich for a burst of flavor.

Jalapeno

Finally, we sampled the Jalapeno flavor. This one packs a punch with its heat.

Tasting notes: The jalapeno provides a noticeable kick, similar to pepper jack cheese but perhaps even spicier. It could be a good choice for a cheeseburger if you're looking for that extra heat. However, the texture of these slices is not as firm as traditional pepper jack, which might be a drawback for some.

Final Thoughts

While the flavors are interesting, we still prefer block cheese for its versatility and texture. If you're already buying sliced cheese and want to try something different, these Kraft Singles might be worth a shot. However, if you're not typically a fan of processed cheese slices, you might want to stick with your usual choices.
