Limited Edition Publix Ice Creams: Hula Hula Macadamia and Caramel Turtle Cheesecake

Today, Kevin and I are sampling two limited edition Publix ice creams: Hula Hula Macadamia and Caramel Turtle Cheesecake. Each pint costs $6.39 and can be found at Publix stores. Currently on vacation, we're lucky to have a Publix nearby, allowing us to explore these unique flavors.

Hula Hula Macadamia is a whipped cream-flavored ice cream with caramel ribbons and macadamia brittle. The macadamia nuts add a delightful crunch without being too hard, enhancing the creamy texture of the ice cream. The flavor profile is reminiscent of our Hawaii trip, where fresh macadamia nuts were a highlight.

- Taste: The ice cream tastes like whipped cream with a hint of marshmallow, complemented by thin, crunchy macadamia brittle.

- Rating: I give it a 5 out of 5 for its sweetness and perfect balance of flavors. Kevin rates it a 4.5 out of 5, noting that the macadamia nut flavor could be stronger but still enjoying the sweet, caramelized brittle.

Caramel Turtle Cheesecake features cheesecake-flavored ice cream swirled with sea salt caramel, milk chocolate caramel turtles, and pecans. This flavor offers a complex mix of ingredients, making each bite a new experience.

Review:

- Taste: The cheesecake flavor is intense, almost yogurt-like, and the caramel enhances this tangy taste. However, the distribution of caramel and turtles is sparse.

- Rating: While I appreciate the strong cheesecake flavor, this wouldn't be a frequent choice for me. Kevin finds the caramel accentuates the cheesecake but prefers the Hula Hula Macadamia for its consistent excellence.

Despite the high price point compared to budget options like Aldi, Publix ice creams deliver superior quality and unique flavors. The Hula Hula Macadamia stands out as a favorite, with its perfect combination of creamy ice cream and crunchy brittle. Although Caramel Turtle Cheesecake offers an intriguing taste, it doesn’t surpass the Hula Hula Macadamia in our rankings.
