Today, Kevin and I are reviewing Mug Root Beer, comparing the original version with the zero sugar variety. Both were purchased at Walmart, where we found them in the snacks and drinks section. Taste Comparison Kevin, a longtime A&W Root Beer fan, noted that the original Mug Root Beer has a stronger, almost licorice-like flavor. It's very sweet and has a distinct black jelly bean taste, which is pleasant but not overpowering. The zero sugar version, while maintaining the root beer essence, does have a noticeable artificial sweetener flavor. Despite this, it's a good option for those avoiding calories.
