Today, Kevin and I are reviewing Pop Daddy Pretzels and Smart Food Popcorn. We have the cinnamon sugar and smoked gouda flavors of Pop Daddy Pretzels, and the cheddar barbecue Smart Food popcorn. Here are our thoughts.
Pop Daddy Pretzels Review
Cinnamon Sugar Pretzels
The Pop Daddy cinnamon sugar pretzels are available at Dollar Tree for just $1.25 per bag. This is a great deal considering the quality and quantity you get. The pretzels are hand-seasoned in small batches in Howell, Michigan, and each 3 oz bag contains about 30 sticks, with three servings per container at 140 calories per serving.
Upon tasting, the cinnamon sugar flavor is delightful. The pretzels are well-coated, offering a perfect blend of buttery, cinnamon, and sugar flavors, with a slight hint of salt. These pretzels are denser and crunchier than many other pretzel sticks, making them a satisfying snack. We both enjoyed them immensely and found them hard to put down.
Smoked Gouda Pretzels
The smoked gouda pretzels also cost $1.25 at Dollar Tree and are similarly hand-seasoned. Each serving is 130 calories, and the flavor profile is smoky and cheesy without being overpowering. These pretzels also have a subtle saltiness, which complements the gouda flavor well. Overall, they are a tasty, savory snack option.
Smart Food Popcorn Review
Cheddar Barbecue Popcorn
The Smart Food cheddar barbecue popcorn was purchased at Kroger for $5.19. This limited-edition flavor is also available in smaller bags at Walmart. The popcorn is made in Plano, Texas, and each 10 oz bag contains six servings, with 160 calories per serving.
Despite the promising flavor combination, we found the cheddar barbecue popcorn disappointing. The mix of cheese and barbecue flavors did not work well together, resulting in an off-putting taste. While some might enjoy this unique blend, it didn't appeal to us, and we wouldn't buy it again.
Conclusion
Pop Daddy Pretzels: Both the cinnamon sugar and smoked gouda flavors are excellent. They offer great taste, quality, and value, making them a must-try for pretzel lovers.
Smart Food Popcorn: The cheddar barbecue flavor did not meet our expectations. If you're interested, we recommend trying a smaller bag first to see if it's to your liking.
