Puff Cookies Review: Confetti and Chocolate Chip Varieties

Today, Kevin and I are trying Puff Cookies, available in two flavors: Confetti and Chocolate Chip. We purchased these for $4.99 each at Meijer. Each package contains 12.65 oz (360 g) of cookie dough.

Baking Instructions

To bake these cookies:

  1. Preheat the oven to 300°F.
  2. Place dough pieces generously apart on a non-stick baking sheet.
  3. Bake for 17 to 20 minutes.
  4. Let them cool for 2 minutes after baking.

If you prefer, you can roll the dough into balls before baking. Personally, I'm not too concerned about the shape since it's just Kevin and me enjoying these cookies.

Preparing the Cookies

We used parchment paper on our baking sheet and decided to bake three cookies from each flavor. Here's a closer look at the cookies before baking:

  • Confetti Cookie Dough: Appears as raw cookie dough with colorful confetti pieces.
  • Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough: Looks like it has plenty of chocolate chips.

We set the timer for 18 minutes and waited to see the results.

Baking Results

Once baked, the cookies did not spread much, despite the packaging instructions suggesting to place them generously apart. We let them cool for a few minutes before moving them to a plate for tasting.

Tasting the Chocolate Chip Cookies

Puff Cookies have a unique texture that reminded us more of a biscuit or a yeast roll rather than a traditional cookie. The chocolate chips were a highlight, offering a nice, soft melt. However, the overall texture was more bread-like and less sweet than typical chocolate chip cookies.

Tasting the Confetti Cookies

The Confetti cookies had a sweet vanilla flavor, similar to a sugar cookie. We found these a bit sweeter than the chocolate chip variety, which we preferred. The confetti pieces added a colorful and fun element to the cookies.

Overall Impressions

Puff Cookies are ideal for those who prefer a less sweet, more bread-like cookie. They might not satisfy someone looking for the traditional cookie texture and flavor, but they offer a unique alternative.

If you're curious to try them, we've only found Puff Cookies at Meijer, and only in these two flavors. If you find other flavors or try them yourself, we'd love to hear about your experience.
