MMI Turret Marine Chronograph V2: Full Lume Dive Watch (Limited Edition)
Welcome to Wrong Time Watch. My name is Kevin, and today we're reviewing the MMI Turret Marine Chronograph Version 2. The current price for this watch is $399, but it will increase to $469 after May 15th. This particular model features the Ice Blue dial, which is currently sold out. However, you can still purchase the Bismar Yellow dial. Both versions have full lume dials.

Key Features

Crystal and Bezel:

- Double-domed sapphire crystal with AR coating on the underside.
- Ceramic rotating bezel with full lume, 120-click unidirectional, often referred to as a dive bezel.

Case:

- Constructed from 316L stainless steel with a mix of brushed and polished finishes.
- Polished chamfered edges on the exterior and interior of the lugs.

Dial:

- Applied indices with three sub-dials: a minute counter for the chronograph, a running seconds sub-dial, and an hour counter for the chronograph.
- Unique roto-date wheel functionality, offering a distinct aesthetic compared to the traditional pointer date seen in brands like Oris.
- Full lume dial for enhanced visibility in low light conditions.

Movement:

- Seiko VK67A Mechaquartz movement, combining quartz accuracy with mechanical chronograph functionality.
- Battery life of approximately three years, accurate to ±20 seconds per month.
- The chronograph second hand snaps back like a mechanical movement.

Water Resistance:

- Rated to 100 meters.
- Screw-down signed and lumed crown to ensure water resistance and prevent accidental activation of the chronograph under water.

Dimensions:

- 47mm lug-to-lug.
- 40mm bezel diameter, flush with the case.
- 14.2mm thick (including the domed crystal).
- 20mm lug width, with the bracelet tapering down to 20mm.
- Watch weight: 153 grams.

Additional Features:

- Screw-down case back with engraving and numbering (limited to 88 pieces).
- Quick release pins and solid end links on the bracelet, secured with screw pins.
- Stamped safety clasp with five micro-adjustments for a perfect fit.

MMI Turret Marine Chronograph V2 Key Features

Lume Performance

The watch features a mix of C3 X1 and BGW9 lume on the dial, bezel, indices, and hands. The full lume dial offers a striking visual effect, especially in dark environments, although some may find traditional lumed indices easier to read in low light.

Comparison

For reference, here is a comparison with the Seiko SKX:
- The SKX has a 42mm case, with the bezel measuring approximately 41mm.
- The MMI Turret Marine Chronograph is slightly thicker and has a more slab-sided case, making it appear even thicker.

Conclusion

In summary, the MMI Turret Marine Chronograph Version 2 is a robust and visually striking timepiece, offering a blend of mechanical and quartz features, a full lume dial, and a distinctive date wheel. For more details and to purchase, visit the MMI Watches website.
