Baskin Robbins Ice Cream Review: Blue's Boardwalk Bash vs. Blossom's Berry Twirl

Today, Kevin and I are trying two new ice cream flavors at Baskin Robbins. On the left, we have the "Blue's Boardwalk Bash," and on the right, the "Blossom's Berry Twirl." Let's dive in and see how they taste!

This flavor is inspired by a new animated movie featuring a character named Blue. It combines blue raspberry flavored ice cream with Oreo cookie pieces and blue cotton candy swirls. When we first opened it, the aroma was overwhelmingly strong, resembling blueberry more than blue raspberry.

Tasting Notes:

- Flavor: Despite being labeled as blue raspberry, it tastes distinctly like blueberry. The cotton candy swirl adds a sugary texture, and the Oreo pieces are a nice touch, although they aren't crunchy.

- Texture: The cotton candy swirl has sugar crystals, but we found them inconsistently distributed. The Oreo pieces, though not crunchy, maintain a firm texture that complements the ice cream.

Verdict: If you love blueberry, you'll enjoy this flavor. However, the misleading "blue raspberry" name might deter some who don't favor raspberry flavors, even though it tastes more like blueberry.

This flavor features strawberry and sweet cream ice creams with rainbow sprinkles and pink sugar cookie dough pieces. It is named after another character from the same movie.

- Flavor: The strawberry taste is very subtle, almost indistinguishable from vanilla. The pink sugar cookie dough pieces are dense and chewy, not adding much flavor.

- Texture: The cookie dough pieces are almost hard, contrasting sharply with the smooth ice cream.

Verdict: Compared to Blue's Boardwalk Bash, this flavor is less impressive. The taste is flat, and the cookie dough's texture can be off-putting.

Blue's Boardwalk Bash stands out with its bold, blueberry-like flavor and enjoyable Oreo pieces. Blossom's Berry Twirl, while sweet, lacks the same depth of flavor and has a less appealing texture.
