BN Cookies: Vanilla, Chocolate, Raspberry, and Strawberry Flavors

Hey everyone, today we’re trying some BN cookies from France. We have four flavors: vanilla, chocolate, raspberry, and strawberry. These cookies are available at Jungle Jim's, a supermarket in Cincinnati, for $3.99 per packet. Each packet contains 16 biscuits, weighing 285 grams or 10.05 ounces.

Vanilla Flavor

The vanilla BN cookies have a face imprinted on them, similar to a piece of toast. Despite the appealing appearance, the vanilla flavor is disappointing. The cream filling is very thin and lacks any significant vanilla taste. The texture is reminiscent of cardboard, leaving much to be desired.

Chocolate Flavor

Next, we tried the chocolate BN cookies. These also feature a smiling face design and are slightly thicker than the vanilla ones. The chocolate taste, although artificial, is an improvement over the vanilla. It has more flavor, though it’s still not quite like real chocolate, resembling more of a Tootsie Roll or other artificial chocolate products.

Raspberry Flavor

The raspberry BN cookies have a shiny gel-like filling. The cookie itself is darker and the filling has a subtle raspberry flavor. The texture is similar to a thumbprint cookie with raspberry filling, but not as flavorful. The raspberry taste is faint, and overall, these cookies are quite sticky and difficult to twist apart.

Strawberry Flavor

Lastly, the strawberry BN cookies also have a shiny, gel-like filling. The taste is reminiscent of a fruit roll-up, but not as strong. The strawberry flavor is very mild, and the cookie itself doesn’t stand out much. Like the raspberry variety, these cookies would likely appeal more to children than adults.

Overall Impression

Overall, these BN cookies are a mixed bag. The chocolate flavor stands out as the most palatable, but still falls short of genuine chocolate taste. The vanilla, raspberry, and strawberry flavors are underwhelming, with thin fillings and mild, artificial flavors. For $3.99 a packet, there are better cookie options available. While children might enjoy these smiley-faced cookies, adults may find them lacking in flavor and satisfaction.

If you’re considering trying BN cookies, you might want to pass and stick with other options like Oreos, which offer better taste and value for money.
