Bobo's Dipp'd Bars - Original Oat Bar and Dark Chocolate

Today, Kevin and I are trying Bobo's Dipped Bars. We have the Original Oat Bar with dark chocolate and the Chocolate Oat Bar with dark chocolate. These were $5.39 per box at Whole Foods, with each box containing five bars. That works out to just over a dollar per bar.

We have had mixed experiences with Bobo's bars in the past. Some varieties, like the PB&J-filled bars, we loved and have bought multiple times. Others, we absolutely hated and would never buy again. Given our positive experience with the PB&J bars, we decided to give these new dipped bars a try.

  • Flavors: Original Oat Bar and Dark Chocolate, Chocolate Oat Bar and Dark Chocolate

Taste Test:

Original Oat Bar with Dark Chocolate:

  • Texture: The bar holds together well, thanks to the brown rice syrup. It’s chewy but not dry, which is a plus.
  • Flavor: The dark chocolate adds a slight bitterness, but overall, it’s not overly sweet. The oats are chunky, giving a substantial bite.
  • Experience: It feels like a hearty snack due to the chunky oats and the time it takes to chew. It’s a bit dark for my taste, but still enjoyable.

Chocolate Oat Bar with Dark Chocolate:

  • Texture: Similar to the Original Oat Bar, it’s chewy and moist.
  • Flavor: Slightly more cocoa flavor than the Original Oat Bar, but very similar overall. There’s a hint of bitterness from the dark chocolate.
  • Experience: Like the Original, it’s a filling snack that can tide you over until your next meal.

Overall Impressions

Both bars are good snacks, especially for those looking for gluten-free, dairy-free, or plant-based options. They are not overly sweet, which might be a downside for some but a plus for others. The bars are filling and can serve as a quick, low-calorie snack between meals. They offer a good balance of chocolate and oat flavors without being too intense. These are a great option for a snack that won’t blow your calorie budget, especially in the afternoon when you’re waiting for dinner.

Conclusion

We’re glad we tried these Bobo’s Dipped Bars, and they’ve redeemed our experience with the brand. If they release more flavors, we’ll be eager to try them. Let us know if you’ve tried these bars or plan to. Check out the picture at the end, and thanks for watching!
