Canada Dry Fruit Splash Review: Cherry Ginger Ale

Today, Kevin and I are excited to try Canada Dry Fruit Splash Cherry Ginger Ale. We purchased both the regular and zero sugar versions, opting for a 12-pack of cans. Although this product has been available for a couple of months, we've received numerous requests to review it. Initially, I hesitated to commit to a 12-pack without first trying a smaller quantity. Since we don't consume our calories in drinks, any regular calorie sodas we buy typically get given away.

Purchasing Experience at Kroger

We bought the 12-packs from Kroger, priced at $9.99 each. However, Kroger offers digital coupons, which reduced the price to $3.99 per 12-pack. It’s essential to read the tags at Kroger and use their app to get the best deals. The whole purpose of the Kroger card used to be to get discounts, but now you need to use their app as well, which can be frustrating.

Product Details

Canada Dry has been around since 1904, known for its caffeine-free beverages. The Cherry Ginger Ale contains 1% real juice, made with carbonated water, high fructose corn syrup, ginger extract, cherry juice concentrate, natural flavor, citric acid, sodium benzoate, potassium sorbate, and red number 40. Each 12 oz can of the regular version contains 140 calories.

Taste Test: Regular Version

Upon trying the regular Cherry Ginger Ale, we noticed it has a light pink color. The cherry flavor is present but not very pronounced, and the ginger flavor is almost undetectable. The drink isn’t very sweet for a full-calorie soda, which was disappointing. It lacks the bite we expect from ginger ale and doesn’t leave us wanting more.

Taste Test: Zero Sugar Version

The zero sugar version has a similar pink hue and only five calories per can. Surprisingly, it tastes almost identical to the regular version, possibly even a bit sweeter. The cherry flavor is consistent, but like the regular version, it lacks the ginger kick. Both versions are so similar that it’s hard to distinguish between them without close comparison.

Final Thoughts

While we didn’t find the Canada Dry Fruit Splash Cherry Ginger Ale particularly exciting, some people might enjoy it. The lack of a strong ginger flavor and the minimal sweetness make it less appealing to us. We wouldn’t purchase it again, preferring to spend our money on drinks we know we love. If you’re adventurous and enjoy trying new beverages, you might find it worth a try. However, it didn’t quite meet our expectations.

Conclusion

Let us know your thoughts if you've tried Canada Dry Fruit Splash Cherry Ginger Ale. We're curious to see if others share our opinion or if there are fans who love it. Thanks for watching our review!
