Clio Zero Sugar Greek Yogurt Bars - Vanilla and Mixed Berry

Today, Kevin and I are trying Clio Zero Sugar Greek Yogurt Bars in Vanilla and Mixed Berry flavors. These bars are available at Whole Foods for $6.29 per box, with each box containing four bars.

Previous Reviews

We've previously reviewed other Clio bars, though those were not zero sugar. The new zero sugar variants caught our eye at Whole Foods. The standard Cleo bars we've reviewed before had higher protein content. For example, the strawberry and vanilla variants contained 8 grams of protein each. These zero sugar bars, however, have 7 grams of protein. Other Clio products we've tried include the Vanilla Almond Granola and Yogurt Parfait, Blueberry Greek Yogurt Bar, Chocolate Greek Yogurt Bar, Strawberry Granola and Yogurt, Coconut Granola and Yogurt, and the Less Sugar Berry.

Product Information

The packaging emphasizes that these bars should be kept refrigerated or frozen. The zero sugar Clio bars are made with strained Greek yogurt, offering a cheesecake-like texture and a chocolate coating. Each bar contains 100 calories, 7 grams of protein, and is keto-friendly and gluten-free. They are manufactured in New Jersey.

Tasting Notes

Vanilla Flavor:

The texture is the standout feature, resembling a cheesecake—thick and satisfying. While not overly sweet, the chocolate coating adds a pleasant flavor. We believe freezing the bars would enhance their firmness, as they were refrigerated at Whole Foods and at home.

Mixed Berry Flavor:

This flavor features a mix of strawberry, blueberry, and raspberry. Despite the berry imagery, the ingredients list only natural flavors and beet juice for color, not actual berries. The texture is denser and thicker compared to the vanilla bar, and it tends to dry out the mouth a bit more. The dominant flavor is raspberry, but the chocolate is less noticeable compared to the vanilla bar.

Overall Impressions

We prefer the vanilla bar because the chocolate flavor is more prominent. The mixed berry bar, although enjoyable, doesn't highlight the chocolate as much. These bars are quite small and somewhat pricey, making them more of a delicacy than a regular snack. While we enjoy Clio bars, we find that buying a cup of yogurt is more economical and lower in calories.

Final Thoughts

Clio Zero Sugar Greek Yogurt Bars are a convenient, hand-held snack option, albeit on the expensive side. If you’ve tried these zero sugar variants, we’d love to hear your thoughts.
