Expired Couscous Still Good To Eat Twistd Mexican Couscous

Hi, it's Alaska Granny! Lately, I've been focusing on organizing my prepper pantry and food storage stockpile, ensuring that I'm rotating my supplies effectively. If you're seeking easy-to-prepare foods that add variety to your prepper pantry, consider the flavorful couscous options from Twisted Flavor Company.

I've tried three varieties: Mexican Spicy, Italian Savory Lemon, and Italian Sundried Tomato & Chili. If you're not familiar with couscous, it's a type of small grain that's incredibly simple to prepare. You only need to add boiling water or microwave it for a few minutes. Even in a power outage, you can use an emergency stove to heat water, pour it over the couscous, and have a meal ready in minutes.

Despite the packaging indicating a "best before" date of 09/30/2021, these foods often remain edible well past their expiration. Today, I'll be preparing the Mexican-inspired Smoky Flavored Couscous. This variety is vegetarian, low-fat, and packed with 350 calories and 13 grams of protein per serving.

Preparation is straightforward:
1. Empty the contents into a bowl.
2. Add 2/3 cup of water.
3. Stir and microwave for 2 minutes.
4. Stir again and microwave for an additional 30 seconds.
5. Let it sit for 2 more minutes and then fluff it up.

The couscous is visually appealing with noticeable chunks of vegetables. It has a delicious aroma and provides a substantial serving from a small package. The flavor is spicy and flavorful, making it a great accompaniment to refried beans, salsa, and cheese for a complete meal. This variation is a pleasant change from the typical beans and rice combo.

Even though the package had expired, the couscous was still delicious and perfectly fine to eat. Twisted Flavor Company's couscous is affordable, has a long shelf life, and requires minimal cooking—ideal for any prepper pantry.

If you've tried Twisted Flavor Company's couscous, leave a comment and share how you serve it to create a more substantial meal. If you enjoyed this video, please like, share, and subscribe to the Alaska Granny Channel for more tips and reviews.
