Today, Kevin and I will be tasting some Kinder chocolates for you. We're sampling the new Kinder chocolate ice cream and the Kinder Bueno White. The Kinder chocolate ice cream was priced at $9.59, and the Kinder Bueno White cones were $9.29 each, both purchased from Jungle Jim's International Market in Ohio.
Kinder Chocolate Ice Cream
The Kinder chocolate ice cream comes in a sleek box that doesn't take up much freezer space. Each box contains four bars, each 140 calories. The ice cream is made with a milk and milk chocolate coating.
First Impressions: Kinder Bueno White
The white coating has a European white chocolate flavor, with a creamy, milky taste. While it's not my favorite type of white chocolate, it's still enjoyable. The chocolate is crispy and of high quality, which is a hallmark of Kinder products.
Kinder Bueno White Cone
The Kinder Bueno White cone has 218 calories and features hazelnut-flavored ice cream in a wafer cone, topped with a hazelnut disc and cocoa sprinkles. The hazelnut flavor is strong and creamy, which we liked, but the cone itself was disappointing. It was chewy and soft, not the crispy texture we expected. The chocolate at the bottom of the cone was a nice touch, but the overall experience was let down by the cone's texture.
Final Thoughts
Both the Kinder chocolate ice cream and the Kinder Bueno White had delicious flavors, especially the hazelnut, but the cone's texture was a major drawback. If these were available in a cup format, we would definitely buy them regularly. The combination of chocolate and hazelnut is delightful, and we hope to see improvements in the cone's texture in future versions.
