Leclerc Celebration Raspberry Truffle Butter Cookies & Dare Snickerdoodle Sandwich Crème Cookies

Today, Kevin and I are excited to try some well-known Canadian cookies for you. We have two popular brands: L. Clark and Dare.

L. Clark Celebration Cookies: Raspberry Truffle Butter Cookies

First up, we have the L. Clark Celebration cookies, specifically the Raspberry Truffle Butter Cookies. These were purchased at Jungle Jim’s International Market for $5.49, for an 8.4 oz (240 g) box.

Upon opening, we found a single tray of cookies, neatly stacked. The packaging claims they are made with real milk chocolate and raspberry truffle butter. Each serving consists of two cookies (30 g) with 140 calories per serving. The cookies feature a delightful combination of flavors, with the milk chocolate and raspberry pairing beautifully. Although the cookie itself is a bit hard, the taste is quite enjoyable, reminiscent of a Jaffa cake with its jelly-like consistency.

Dare Sandwich Creams: Snickerdoodle Cookies

Next, we tried the Dare Sandwich Creams in Snickerdoodle flavor. These cookies were also purchased at Jungle Jim’s for $2.69 for a 10.2 oz box, offering more value compared to the L. Clark cookies. Each serving of these cookies, which contains two cookies (39 g), has 180 calories.

The Snickerdoodle cookies have a pleasant cinnamon aroma, almost like Christmas cookies. The texture is softer and more crumbly compared to the L. Clark cookies, making them easy to bite into. The cinnamon flavor is quite strong, perfect for those who enjoy a bold cinnamon taste. The cream filling adds a nice touch, although it's not overly thick.

Final Thoughts

Both brands offer high-quality cookies, each with its unique characteristics. The L. Clark Raspberry Truffle Butter Cookies stand out for their combination of milk chocolate and raspberry jelly, while the Dare Snickerdoodle Cookies are notable for their strong cinnamon flavor and soft texture.

If you’re interested in trying these cookies and can't get to Jungle Jim’s International Market, you can find Dare cookies at Big Lots, and L. Clark cookies are available at Walmart. We’ve reviewed other flavors of these brands on our YouTube channel, Tammy Dunn, so check that out for more recommendations.
