LOVO Swiss Made: Coconutmilk Chocolate & Hazelnutmilk Chocolate Review

Today, Kevin and I are excited to try Lovo Brands Swiss-made chocolates. We have two varieties: Hazelnut Milk Chocolate and Coconut Milk Chocolate, each priced at $3.90 at Walmart. Interestingly, every time I saw these chocolates, I initially read the brand name as "Love" instead of "Lovo." It's a simple mix-up, but it goes to show how our brains can play tricks on us.

Both chocolates are plant-based, vegan, and weigh 2.82 oz (80 g). Lovo prides itself on offering the creamiest and smoothest plant milk chocolate bars, without any dairy.

- Hazelnut Milk Chocolate

  - Calories: 180 per serving, 470 for the entire bar.

The texture is reminiscent of dark chocolate, with a satisfying snap that turns creamy as it melts. The hazelnut flavor is robust, making it clear that Lovo emphasizes the nut's full potential. Unlike many American products where hazelnut is often overshadowed, Lovo’s Hazelnut Milk Chocolate stands out with its rich, nutty taste. This bar is a perfect pick for hazelnut lovers.

This bar has a softer, almost truffle-like texture compared to the hazelnut variety. It boasts a strong coconut flavor, though it lacks the texture of coconut flakes found in bars like Mounds or Bounty. The creaminess is notable, making it ideal for those who prefer smooth chocolate without bits of coconut. There's a slight bitterness, but it's very mild and doesn't detract from the overall taste.

Both Lovo chocolates are high-quality, vegan-friendly options available in the candy aisle at Walmart. If you enjoy rich, creamy chocolate with a strong flavor profile, these are great choices. Kevin prefers the Coconut Milk Chocolate for its flavor, while I lean towards the Hazelnut Milk Chocolate for its texture and nutty taste. Regardless of your preference, either bar is a delightful treat.
