Today, Kevin and I will be reviewing four Monster Energy drinks: Monster Energy Assault, White Pineapple, Ultra Golden Pineapple, and Kiwi Strawberry. If you can find these at Dollar Tree, you should buy them there because they are significantly cheaper. All three of these flavors were purchased at Dollar Tree for just $1.25 each, compared to $3.49 at a gas station. Monster Energy Assault was a special request, and we had to buy it at the Shell station for $3.49.
Dollar Tree also carries other energy drinks, and most are priced around $1.25, which is a great deal compared to the $3 or more you'd pay at Walmart or Kroger.
What does monster energy drink taste like?
Monster Energy Assault
Monster Energy Assault doesn’t specify its flavor on the can. It contains either 160 or 180 mg of caffeine (the font makes it hard to read) and has 200 calories per can. The drink looks and smells like cola, reminiscent of RC Cola. The camouflage design on the can suggests it’s hiding its true nature, much like a cola pretending to be an energy drink. The flavor has a slight spiciness but is smooth and less carbonated than regular cola, making it easier to drink. If you like cola, you'll likely enjoy this.
White Pineapple
Monster Reserve White Pineapple has no juice, tea, coffee, or tweaks to the energy blend. It promises the original Monster buzz with a smooth, sweet pineapple flavor. The can contains 120 calories and 160 mg of caffeine. The taste is incredibly similar to the syrup from canned pineapple slices, sweet and delicious despite having 0% juice. It's a fantastic option for pineapple lovers.
Ultra Golden Pineapple
Ultra Golden Pineapple is a zero-sugar variant with 10 calories and 150 mg of caffeine per can. Inspired by the nectar of the gods, it aims to deliver a heavenly pineapple flavor. However, it tastes more artificial and candy-like compared to the White Pineapple. Despite the fancy can, it doesn’t match the natural sweetness of White Pineapple.
Kiwi Strawberry
Monster Reserve Kiwi Strawberry has no juice, tea, coffee, or tweaks, with 120 calories and 160 mg of caffeine per can. The flavor is predominantly strawberry with a hint of kiwi, leaning more towards a candy-like taste rather than natural fruit. It's very sweet and enjoyable, though not as natural-tasting as the White Pineapple.
Conclusion
Out of the four, our favorites are Monster Energy Assault and White Pineapple. Assault is perfect for daily consumption, offering a cola-like experience without the typical energy drink flavor. White Pineapple stands out for its authentic pineapple taste. If you have a Dollar Tree nearby, check for these flavors to save money and enjoy a variety of delicious energy drinks.
