Moser Roth Cinco Deo Chocolates from Aldi

Today, Kevin and I are excited to review a box of Moser Roth chocolates. These chocolates, made in Germany, are available at Aldi. The box we’re trying is called Cinco Deo and contains four different flavors. Let's dive in!

Overview and Pricing

We purchased this box for $3.69 at Aldi, which includes 12 chocolates. Each box offers six servings, with two pieces per serving, totaling 130 calories per serving. The flavors in this collection are Orchata, Dulce de Leche, Spicy Mango Chili, and Cinnamon Hot Chocolate.

Flavor Breakdown

1. Orchata

   • The Orchata flavor is the white chocolate. It initially reminded us of a black jelly bean or cinnamon candy. The taste is a combination of anise and cinnamon, similar to the flavor of Red Hots but milder. It's a pleasant, unique blend.

2. Dulce de Leche

   • This flavor is reminiscent of creamy caramel. The filling is soft and smooth, with a texture close to that of a truffle. It's incredibly sweet and has a milky taste, making it our favorite among the four.

3. Spicy Mango Chili

   • Unfortunately, the Spicy Mango Chili did not meet our expectations. It had an off-putting taste, resembling overripe mango and feet. Additionally, it was quite spicy, leaving a lingering heat that was unpleasant. We would not recommend this flavor.

4. Cinnamon Hot Chocolate

   • This one has a strong cinnamon flavor, akin to candy cinnamon rather than spice. It's similar to the Orchata but more intense. While it’s enjoyable, it’s not something we would choose regularly.

Final Thoughts

The Moser Roth Cinco Deo chocolates offer a diverse range of flavors, though not all were to our liking. The Dulce de Leche stood out as the best, thanks to its sweetness and creamy texture. The Orchata was also enjoyable, while the Cinnamon Hot Chocolate was decent but not remarkable. However, the Spicy Mango Chili was a significant miss for us.
