OffLimits Cereal Fluf N Puf Pancakes and Marshmallow Cereal Review

Today, Kevin and I are trying the OffLimits Fluf N Puf gluten-free cereal, a pancake and marshmallow blend that promises "nothing artificial." We paid $7.99 for a 7.5 oz (213 g) box at Whole Foods, which comes out to over a dollar per ounce. This cereal is also vegan, so it's clear that you're paying a premium for these specialized attributes.

We've previously reviewed other OffLimits Fluf N Puf cereals, including Pandan, Cinnamon, Chamberlain Coffee, and Strawberry, which we bought at Good Foods Co-op in Lexington. Interestingly, that store no longer carries them, likely due to their high price point.

The cereal is made with vegan, gluten-free, non-GMO ingredients and contains nothing artificial. Each 3/4 cup (35 g) serving has 120 calories. The ingredients include rice flour, sugar, marshmallows, oat flour, pea fiber, natural maple flavor, and high oleic sunflower oil. The cereal has a strong maple scent, but the flavor is much milder.

The marshmallows are larger than the cereal pieces and have a hard, dehydrated texture, reminiscent of freeze-dried marshmallows. Despite this, we enjoyed the cereal's texture and the fact that it remains crunchy in milk.

In terms of flavor, Kevin and I had different experiences. I found the maple flavor prominent in every bite, while Kevin hardly tasted it. Instead, he described the flavor as a generic sweetness with a hint of vanilla.

Overall, we both liked the cereal's texture and crunch, but opinions on the flavor varied. I found the maple flavor strong and enjoyable, whereas Kevin didn't detect it at all.

Considering the high price, this cereal might not be for everyone. Healthier, specialty foods often come with a higher price tag, making them less accessible. If you're willing to pay $8 for a box, you can find OffLimits Fluf N Puf  at Whole Foods, but don't expect to see it at budget retailers like Walmart.
