Today, Kevin and I are reviewing Rainstorm Clean Energy Drinks. We have four flavors to try: Strawberry Apricot, Guava Strawberry, Citrus Zest, and Mango. These drinks were kindly provided to us by the company, and we appreciate their generosity. For those interested, we also reviewed other flavors about a year ago. You can find that video by searching "Tammy Den Rainstorm" on YouTube. In that review, we covered Valencia Orange, Kiwi Blend, Peach Nectarine, and Harvest Grape.
Overview
Rainstorm offers a wide range of flavors. Each 12 oz can contains 200 mg of caffeine, zero sugar, and zero juice. The drinks are designed to accelerate metabolism, improve focus, and are plant-based, vegan, and kosher. They contain no high fructose corn syrup or artificial colors. The drinks are PhD formulated, free from artificially sourced caffeine or colors, and are pasteurized for safety without added preservatives like sodium benzoate or potassium sorbate. Their proprietary energy blend helps boost metabolism, and in combination with exercise and a healthy diet, can help burn fat. However, the product itself does not cause weight loss. Rainstorm is a regulated beverage, not a dietary supplement.
Flavor Reviews
Strawberry Apricot
The Strawberry Apricot flavor has a light pink color and a pleasant aroma. The flavor is incredibly sweet, with the strawberry and apricot blending well. The sweetness level is enjoyable, making it a drink we could consume regularly. Despite not usually purchasing caffeinated drinks, this is one we would consider due to its delightful taste.
Guava Strawberry
The Guava Strawberry flavor fills the glass completely and has a prominent guava scent. Initially, it has a slight funkiness, but the sweetness of the strawberry quickly balances it out. The combination works well, and the flavor profile is refreshing and enjoyable, despite our usual hesitancy towards guava flavors.
Citrus Zest
Citrus Zest has a clear color and a surprisingly light flavor. We expected a stronger orange taste based on the name and packaging but found the citrus flavor to be mild and balanced. While it might not be our top pick, its lighter flavor could appeal to those who prefer a more subtle citrus taste.
Mango
The Mango flavor is a bit of a gamble – it could be either a hit or a miss. It has a strong mango aroma, and the taste matches the smell, though it is slightly less intense. There's a bit of funkiness typical of mango, and while it's not bad, it wouldn't be our first choice. However, for mango enthusiasts, this drink delivers a strong, pure mango flavor.
Conclusion
In summary, our favorite flavors are the Strawberry Apricot and Guava Strawberry, with Citrus Zest being a decent option but not as impressive. The Mango flavor, while well-executed, is not to our personal taste. We would love to see these drinks offered in a variety pack to give consumers the opportunity to try all flavors. For those who love mango, the Mango flavor is a must-try. For others, the Strawberry Apricot and Guava Strawberry are highly recommended.
