Today, Kevin and I are trying Sweet Nothings organic frozen pops. We have three flavors: Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup, Peanut Butter and Jelly, and Banana Chocolate Peanut Butter. Each box costs $6.99 at Whole Foods and contains six 1.5 oz (43g) pops, with 80 calories per pop.
First Impressions
The pops are located in the freezer section and need to be kept frozen. They are non-dairy and made from organic ingredients such as dates, peanut butter, and cacao. Each pop has no added sugar, and they are plant-based and organic.
Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup Pops
These pops are 80 calories each and contain water, dates, peanut butter, cacao, and sea salt. Unfortunately, the combination of chocolate and dates creates an unappealing flavor, and the texture is gritty and chalky. It does not resemble a traditional peanut butter cup, making it a disappointing choice.
Peanut Butter and Jelly Pops
These pops have 70 calories each and consist of water, strawberries, and peanut butter. While slightly better than the Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup pops, the texture remains gritty. The strawberry flavor is present, but the overall experience falls short of a classic peanut butter and jelly taste.
Banana Chocolate Peanut Butter Pops
These pops also have 80 calories each and include water, bananas, peanut butter, dates, cacao, and sea salt. The banana flavor is strong but, again, the texture is off-putting. The combination of ingredients does not work well together when frozen.
Overall Verdict
The Sweet Nothings pops do not deliver on taste or texture. The flavors are lackluster, and the gritty texture makes them unenjoyable. With many excellent plant-based ice creams available, such as Walmart’s Better Goods brand, these pops are not worth the $7 price tag. Save your money and opt for a different plant-based dessert.
Thanks for watching, and we hope you found this review helpful.
