Trying JL Kraft Sauces – A Comprehensive Taste Test

Today, Kevin and I are sampling a variety of JL Craft sauces, including Garlic Aioli, Burger Sauce, Smoky Hickory Bacon Flavored Aioli, Chipotle Aioli, and Buffalo Style Mayonnaise Dressing. Each sauce costs $4.99 at Meijer.

Garlic Aioli

The Garlic Aioli boasts a creamy texture and strong garlic flavor without being overwhelming. It pairs well with crispy chicken, baked in the oven. This aioli is versatile, suitable for marinating chicken or serving as a dip for fries, onion rings, or even a burger.

Burger Sauce

This sauce stands out with its bold, horseradish-forward flavor. It's only 40 calories per tablespoon, making it a lighter option. The combination of tomato puree and horseradish gives it a unique taste that reminds us of a cross between tartar sauce and ketchup. It's perfect for burgers, roast beef, or even fish sticks.

Smoky Hickory Bacon Flavored Aioli

At 70 calories per tablespoon, this aioli delivers a strong bacon bit flavor, though it tends to have a lingering aftertaste. If you enjoy the taste of bacon bits, this sauce will appeal to you. However, the artificial flavor might not be for everyone.

Chipotle Aioli

With a smoky pepper flavor and 80 calories per tablespoon, the Chipotle Aioli provides a balanced mix of heat and taste. It's made with real chipotle peppers and other flavorful ingredients. While it does have a noticeable heat, it's not overwhelming, making it a great addition to dishes needing a spicy kick.

Buffalo Style Mayonnaise Dressing

This dressing is the spiciest of the bunch, with a distinct buffalo sauce flavor and 80 calories per tablespoon. It's creamy with a mouth-tingling heat that fans of spicy foods will appreciate. While it's too hot for me to enjoy regularly, it would be a great dip for those who love buffalo sauce.

Conclusion

Among the sauces we tried, the Garlic Aioli and Chipotle Aioli were my favorites for their versatile and balanced flavors. The Burger Sauce also stood out for its unique horseradish taste. While the Smoky Hickory Bacon Aioli and Buffalo Style Mayonnaise Dressing were flavorful, they didn't suit my taste preferences as much.
