How to Get Your Money Out of Cash App: A Complete Guide

Hey friends! I've realized that while I've made many videos about how to use Cash App, I've never created one that covers all the ways you can withdraw your money. In this video, I'm going to show you four different methods to get your money out of Cash App. Let's get started!

1. Using the Cash Out Button

First, open Cash App on your phone. The simplest way to withdraw money is by using the "Cash Out" button. Here's how:

  • Go to the first tab in Cash App, where you'll see the "Cash Out" button.
  • Before you press it, ensure you know where the money is going. Click on your profile picture and scroll down to "Linked Banks." Here, you can see and manage your attached debit card and bank account.
  • For more details on setting this up, check out my introductory video to Cash App here.

Once you're ready, go back to the first tab and click the "Cash Out" button. Choose how much money you want to withdraw. You'll then have the option of "Standard" or "Instant" transfer:

  • Standard Transfer: This is free and sends money to your linked bank account (takes a few days).
  • Instant Transfer: This sends money to your linked debit card instantly, but it has a fee based on the transfer amount (e.g., $0.25 for a $5 transfer).

2. Sending Money to Someone Else

Another way to get money out of Cash App is by sending it to someone else:

  • Click on the middle tab where the dollar sign is.
  • Enter the amount and click "Pay."
  • Choose the recipient and make sure you're sending from your "Cash Balance."

Be mindful of the amount you're sending. If it exceeds your cash balance, Cash App will use your linked debit card instead. You can't split transactions between your cash balance and debit card, so if needed, send separate transactions to cover the total amount.

For more info on sending money, check out my detailed video here.

3. Using the Cash Card at an ATM

If you have the Cash App debit card, you have two additional options:

  • ATM Withdrawal: Use the Cash Card to withdraw money from an ATM. Cash App charges a $2.50 fee, and additional fees may apply if you use an ATM outside their network. To find an ATM, click on the second tab in the app and follow the instructions.

To avoid Cash App fees, watch my video on using ATMs with Cash App here.

4. Spending with the Cash Card

You can also use your Cash Card to make purchases. Simply spend up to your balance at any store that accepts debit cards. Many stores offer cash back, providing another way to access your funds. If you'd like to learn more about using the Cash Card in stores, watch my video here.
